In an alarming incident, hundreds of unidentified and rotting bodies were found on the roof of Nishtar Hospital, a teaching hospital of Nishtar Medical University in Multan.
The decayed remains of bodies were dumped on the top floor. According to reports, the number of dead bodies is feared to be more than 500.

Many corpses have had their chests ripped open & their human organs removed,& the large shalwars of the corpses indicate that they are Baloch.

The Punjab government has formed a six-member committee to investigate the incident after disturbing videos and pictures of rotting bodies were shared on social media. Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has taken notice of the abandoned bodies and sought a report from the Punjab specialized healthcare and medical education secretary.

A letter on October 13 was also sent to the medical superintendent of the hospital, asking for a detailed inquiry report within three days. Meanwhile, Nishtar Medical University’s Vice-Chancellor also formed a three-member committee for an inquiry.
