The Sindh police had confirmed a few days ago that Zaheer was a member of a gang who were planning on selling Dua after marrying her, as per lawyer Jibran Nasir on Instagram. According to his social media post, the police had issued a warrant under Section 363PPC and Section 3/4 as according to the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act under which Zaheer was to be arrested and Dua will be removed from his home.

Yesterday, the Head of the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s Strategic Reforms Salman Sufi gave an update on the case by revealing that Dua Zehra has been safely removed from her home by the police and has been relocated to the women’s welfare shelter, Dar Ul Aman, while the criminal Zaheer is being traced for an arrest.
