As the drama ‘Mere Humsafar’ nears a close, dropping its 28th episode just yesterday- Twitter applauds Farhan Saeed for smashing the ‘mard nahin rotay’ stereotype through Hamza’s character in the drama.
While most Pakistani drama heroes are still stuck in toxic masculinity, Hamza breaking down in the drama- smashing the “men don’t cry” stereotype- and bravely confronting his pain and heartbreak has left fans in love with him.
The drama released episode 28 featuring an emotionally charged scene where a heartbroken Hamza faces his wife Hala – choosing to talk through difficult and painful emotions “as equals”- instead of just shouting, screaming and putting up a maniacal show of power and anger. He holds her hands and cries, communicating with emotional intelligence instead of just bottling up difficult emotions as men are ‘expected’ to.
Fans took to Twitter to express how touched they were by the scene, saying “let men be soft” because “tears do not belong to any gender”.
