Karachi Kings under Babar Azam just exited the race for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 after losing their seventh match of the season in an adrenaline-infused game against Islamabad United on Monday night at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

After a heroic fightback by Imad Wasim and Qasim Akram, the Karachi Kings needed only eight runs in the final over. However, the game turned as pacer Waqas Maqsood took over in full form.

The Islamabad United victory came at a particularly unexpected time as their side was beset by injuries. Resultantly, Twitter has been rejoicing the victory by 1 run of Islamabad United.

Unfortunately for the Kings, the result came out to be no different from their previous six games: a defeat. They become the first PSL side to lose their first seven PSL games, and the first to be eliminated from this year’s competition. However, they remain champions for remaining a key player in the dramatic tale of cricket that has come to be PSL 2022.
