With the PISA Awards happening in Dubai, our newsfeeds were filled with snaps of various celebrities bringing their A-game to the red carpet. Instead of going all MET GALA with asymmetrical-futuristic gowns, most of our celebrities opted to wear sarees for the show.
For a change South Asian traditional style took the driving seat and we couldn’t be more happy.
Scroll down to see the looks and our take on them!
Sana Javed
Sana Javed opted for a deep green silk Umar Sayeed saree that was definitely a stellar look. One of our favorites from the night.
Iqra Aziz and Yassir Hussain
Iqra was also seen serving looks in a pistachio green saree paired with a classic pink blouse and jewelry reminiscent of the Mughal era. Yasir complimented her look in a sleek black sherwani.
Ushna Shah
Ushna opted for all black look in a feathered Elan gown cinched on the waist with a silver belt. She kept hair tied in a low pony paired with pearl drops as earrings.
Sonya Hussyn
Sonya Hussyn not only won an award for her outstanding performance in Saraab but also hearts with her stunting rust saree paired with a halter top.
Hania Amir
Hania was another one of the leading ladies seen in a saree. Hania wore an off white saree paired with dangling silver earrings and a classic red lip.
Amar Khan
Styled by Rao Ali Khan, Amar wore an all black gown bedazzled with pearls from head to toe, seen here striking a pose.
Mehwish Hayat
Mehwish was seen having a gala time at the awards as she danced with actor Shehryar Munawar. On the fashion front Mehwish wore a silk gown in the color rust with a black belt.
A shout out to all the boys including Feroz Khan, Affan Waheed, Asim Azhar and others who stepped on the red carpet looking their dapper best.
