He posted a video on his official instagram calling attention to the plight his home-town, Ghursay, a village homing 2000 people, located in the breathtaking valleys of GB. Shiraz’s videos are more than just showing everyday activities, they are windows into the urgent challenges facing his community. He mentions how his community’s hope is tested with annual floods which washes away livelihoods, damage schools, destroy crops, sever roads and isolate families.

Shiraz shows the damage done by flooding: villages submerged in water, houses that were once there no longer existant and farmland no longer fit for farming. He highlights the situation of kids that are deprived from education because of damaged schools and road blockages.

Shiraz’s video calls for immediate action from: engineers, environmental experts, government, and NGOs. According to him  any contributions that can help build flood barriers, improve drainage, strengthen riverbanks and secure infrastructure will help strengthen hopes for the residence and can prevent the village being swept away from the map entirely!
