Muzaffargarh has recorded a massive surge in registrations as the 10th Thal Jeep Rally begins, Samaa TV reported. The opening day of the thrilling desert event started with vehicle registrations, tagging and technical inspections. More than 100 racers are participating in the rally, and their medical examinations have also been completed.

Former champion Nadir Magsi has decided to dedicate this event to the flood victims and expressed joy over the staggering response from people. He said that over the past 10 years, the rally has only grown, with a huge turnout of spectators and improvements to the track, which the drivers will enjoy. The rally was bound to be cancelled due to the floods; however, the management agreed to commence it in honour of the victims, he stated.

Next, a qualifying round will be held before the main race to shortlist the final participants. The competitors will test their skills over a three-kilometre stretch in the vast desert. A notification from the Deputy Commissioner announced a local public holiday for Saturday, November 8. All government offices across the district will remain closed to ensure the citizens fully enjoy the event.

The Thal Jeep Rally is considered Pakistan’s most celebrated motorsport event, and the 10th anniversary is proof of the community’s spirit.
